One of the world’s largest snacks companies shifted from a margin-focused approach to a growth-oriented strategy, emphasizing top-line revenue growth, consumer-centric innovation, and digital transformation. It just needed to make sure that the business was aligned behind the new strategy and that all leaders and managers could motivate their teams behind the new direction.
Given the company’s well-established emphasis on learning and development as a catalyst for business success and employee enrichment, we partnered with the L&D function in close consultation with Corporate & Government Affairs and Strategy to build a fully tailored capability programme designed to enable the successful roll-out of the new strategy.
A set of independent self-paced elearning modules was co-created to strengthen capabilities in areas such as change communication, storytelling, difficult conversations, issues management and purpose driven motivation.
Combined with talks and workshops at multiple leadership seminars, 1-1 coaching sessions and a repository of inspirational examples, the programme was a successful cornerstone of the implementation.
Participation satisfaction was consistently over 95% and resulting quarters’ employee engagement rates increased on average 10% each QoQ for the subsequent year. The strategic intent was delivered due to leaders’ and managers’ enhanced ability to tailor the story to their teams and motivate teams to stick through the difficult times.
